Welcome to 1st grade! My name is Mrs. Barker. I am a graduate from Clarke University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and a Reading and Special Education Endorsement. Immediately after graduating from Clarke, I earned my Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Leadership. I spent my first year teaching kindergarten at Table Mound, but am thrilled to be teaching 1st grade at Fulton! I have a sincere passion for teaching and learning and believe students learn best through exploration, conversation, and working collaboratively in groups. I encourage my students to be the best they can be.
I am originally from Rice Lake, a small town in northern Wisconsin. So, I of course am a Green Bay Packers fan! My husband and I love taking trips to St. Louis to watch our favorite baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals. We recently adopted a Golden Doodle puppy and named it Yadi, after the St. Louis Cardinals catcher, Yadier Molina. In my free time I enjoy reading, golfing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs. Murley
Hello! My name is Mrs. Murley. I am a graduate from Clarke University with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Elementary Education with a Reading and Coaching Endorsement. I have finished my student teaching experience at Resurrection Elementary in the kindergarten and third grade classroom. I have been teaching at St. Mary Immaculate Conception since 2009 in the Kindergarten classroom. I accepted a job at Resurrection teaching Kindergarten in 2012 I LOVE teaching. It is a true passion of mine. I have a strong passion and eagerness to teach young children to become proficient and independent learners. I continue to strive to incorporate technology into the classroom. I believe technology gives students the building block to succeed in this tech-driven society at a young age. We do so much in our classroom throughout the year with Ipads and the Smart Boards to develop our young learners. The students become successful, independent learners with all these devices and they enjoy learning with them.
I have also coach Varsity Volleyball at Clayton Ridge. Volleyball means the world to me. I have played volleyball all through high school and again at Clarke University. I have been coaching volleyball for 9 years total-seven club years and two high school years. I enjoy every minute I have teaching and coaching young athletes the skills of volleyball. My latest commitment has been to the Wahlert Freshman Volleyball Team. I coached Freshman at Wahlert for one year before resigning completely from volleyball to start a family!
